Two Waterville men were sentenced Thursday at the Capital Judicial Center in separate hearings on burglary and theft charges.
Skylar Benjamin Caron, 22, who also has a Fairfield address in some court documents, pleaded guilty to one count each of burglary and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, three counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and four counts of violation of conditions of release, all occurring in the period of June 29 to Sept. 28, 2015, in Waterville and Oakland.
Under the sentence imposed Thursday, Caron will spend 18 months in prison with the remainder of the six-year sentence suspended. He also was placed on three years of probation. Part of the sentence includes an 18-month term for assault and violating conditions of release that occurred July 25, 2014, in Waterville. The sentences are to run concurrently.
Caron also was ordered to pay $1,646 restitution.
Joshua Crawford, 27, was sentenced to serve an initial two years in prison of a six-year prison term followed by three years of probation. He pleaded guilty to burglary and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, which occurred Oct. 4, 2015, in Waterville.
In the same court Thursday, Ryan D. Gagne, 28, who has addresses in Clinton and Waterville, pleaded guilty to eluding an officer, operating under the influence and motor vehicle speeding 30-plus mph over the speed limit, all on Nov. 25, 2015, in Waterville.
He was sentenced to serve six months in jail, and the remainder of a three-year jail term was suspended. He was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $700, and his license and registration privileges were suspended for three years.
