AUGUSTA — Maj. Gen. Douglas A. Farnham, Adjutant General of the Maine National Guard, presided over a change of responsibility ceremony for the state command chief warrant officer position on March 16 at Camp Chamberlain, according to a news release from the Maine Army National Guard.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 David F. Cheney replaces Chief Warrant Officer 5 Darrell A. Stevens who retired after nearly 37 years of military service.
Stevens served as the state command chief warrant officer since April 1, 2008.
The command chief warrant officer is responsible to address warrant officer management, education, development and to improve the strength management of the Warrant Officer Corps within the Maine Army National Guard. The individual serves as warrant officer advisor to the state Adjutant General as a member of the primary staff.
