Paul A. Hathaway

GARDINER – Paul A. Hathaway unexpectedly went home to heaven July 6, 2021. The youngest of 10 children he is survived by his sister Mary “Jane” Cone; his amazing wife, Terry; daughters: Jane & husband Harold Tower and Ginger & husband Joseph Shugrue; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Paul enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved country music, lawn sales, long rides, helping people, and animals. He was a jack of all trades, including, a licensed barber and many other trades. But his biggest passion was horses. He trained horses, was a farrier, a blacksmith, horse show supporter and belonged to the Maine Morgan Horse Club.

He lived by his father’s famous saying: “Live for today because you never know what tomorrow brings”.

At his request, there will be no public visiting hours or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
