Martyn “Marty” Vanwart

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. –
Martyn “Marty” Vanwart, 78, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2021 in Bangor with his wife by his side. He was born on Feb. 27, 1943 in Brewer, the son of Lloyd and Mildred Vanwart.

Marty had been a square dance caller for over 60 years in Maine and Florida. He and his wife, Marion were married on Squaw Mountain with a square dance wedding. They enjoyed traveling, especially to square dance conventions of which they attended many of. They were members of the Trinity Church in Wesley Chapel, Fla.

Marty was predeceased by his parents; brother, Peter; and grandson, Micah Bouchard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years and her children, Carol (Carl) Anderson, Brenda (Michael) Bouchard, Char Hogan, Debbie Hussey, and Darrin (Alisha) Durrell; along with 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
