James L. Cadarette

AUGUSTA – James L. Cadarette “Jerry”, 82, passed away at the Maine Medical Center, Augusta on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021. Jerry was born in Readfield, Maine, on July 1, 1939, and attended Readfield Grammer School through the eighth grade. He graduated Kents Hill School in 1957 where he earned varsity letters all four years as a member of the KHS ski team.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964 stationed on Guam during Viet Nam. After discharge, he spent 25 years in the Naval Reserves. He began his life career in Union Beach, New Jersey working as a carpenter/roofer until retirement in 2014.He is survived by his brother, David, of Readfield, and sister, Jacqui, of Hallowell as well as four children; Nancy Cadarette of New Jersey, Joni Kovac of Connecticut, Joseph Cadarette and Kenneth Cadarette of California. Also three nieces; Jane Cowperthwaite, Walpole, Ma. Karen Cowperthwaite, Sherman, Conn., and Molly Butcher, Asheville, N.
