The Whitefield Library & Community Center reopened Friday following a two-year renovation. Winter hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Sue McKeen, president of the Whitefield Library Association’s board of directors, said that they plan to eventually renovate the second floor of the building to be used as a community center for meetings, art shows and perhaps small theater performances on the Grange’s stage.
Renovations included removing a shed, fire escape and chimney while a bigger front entryway was added. The first floor library underwent extensive structural renovations to included installed bookshelf units that had once been used at Jackson Labs.
