The University of Maine at Augusta Sports Hall of Fame plans to hold an induction ceremony for the new 2022 inductees at 6 p.m. Friday, April 29, in the Farbor Forum in Jewett Hall at the University of Maine at Augusta at 46 University Drive.
The induction class includes:
• Richard Haskell: Men’s Basketball Coach 1970-85; 200-plus career wins;
• Michael Haskell: Class of 1987; Men’s Basketball: 1,500-plus career points;
• Keith Chesley: Class of 2016; Men’s Basketball: 2,100-plus career points; and
• Jamie Plummer: Class of 2017; Women’s Basketball: 1,900-plus career points.
The induction of the four new individuals adds stellar athletic contributors from men’s and women’s basketball to the existing 14-member hall, according to a news release from the university.
The Class of 2022 Hall of Famers was selected by the UMA Sports Hall of Fame committee and approved by UMA Interim President Joseph Szakas and Athletic Director Chris Hart.
The event is open to all those wishing to honor the new class.
Established in 2018, the UMA Hall of Fame consists of an interactive display with detailed info about each hall of famer. It is housed in the student lounge in the Randall Student Center at UMA’s Augusta campus. The university welcomes visitors to the UMA Hall of Fame at its Augusta campus or at umamoose.com.
