There are 170 million wombs in the United States of America. You might think those wombs are the property of their rightful owners, but that is not the case. All those wombs have been confiscated by order of the Supreme Court; they are now the property of the state in which a woman lives. These wombs are “private property” that has been taken over “for public use without just compensation” (Fifth Amendment).
In liberal states, the governments will of course allow women to control their own wombs, but this will be a generous gift from those governments. The women will not own their own bodies; they will only be allowed to live in their bodies as lifelong tenants. A future, illiberal government could easily end the lease and take those wombs back again.
In conservative states, every womb will become state-owned land, and any woman who dares to interfere with the activity of her own womb will be guilty of damaging government property. In either case, the state government owns her body, whether it liberally allows her to use it, or conservatively controls her use of it.
If a government owns your body, or any part of it, you are no longer a free citizen; you are a slave of that government.
