AUGUSTA — The Augusta Police Department said Thursday it had arrested a juvenile who is the suspect in an armed robbery last week at the Big Apple convenience store at 36 Stone St.
The suspect reportedly entered the Big Apple just after 10 p.m. on Sept. 27 and brandished a handgun. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money before Augusta police arrived at 10:06 p.m.
The investigation was ongoing until Thursday, when police stopped a vehicle on Memorial Drive in Augusta and, after identifying those inside, confirmed the suspect was among the vehicle’s passengers and arrested him.
The armed robbery marked at least the ninth time the Big Apple on Stone Street has been robbed over the past eight years.
