Joe Pietroski, my former teacher and debate coach, is running for County Commission. He deserves to win.
Years ago, before Colin Powell made me his assistant secretary of state, before serving in Naval Intelligence, before everything, Joe taught me. He stirred wind under many fledgling wings, gave us confidence. As one of many Winthrop High School students, I watched, learned, began reaching higher, thought about service. Joe instilled that.
That is, you see, what Joe does, has done, will do as commissioner. Humble and good humored, he is razor sharp, lives to see dollars well spent, is all about accountability. Party notwithstanding, that is what we need now, more people like Joe. He has my vote, full stop.
