AUGUSTA – Paul Rodrigue, 81, of Marlboro Avenue, passed away peacefully Dec. 2, 2022 at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Augusta, on May 11, 1941, the son of Maurice F. Rodrigue and Henriette A. (Doyon) Rodrigue.
Paul was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1959.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by United Parcel Service for 31 years. He was previously employed by Hudson Pulp & Paper co (a.k.a. Statler Tissue Co.).
Paul lived life to its fullest. He loved to talk and joke around with anyone he came across. He had many interests from space exploration to Maine sports. He was very competitive and loved to play cribbage with his family and his friends at Le Club Calumet. He especially loved competing in pool against his close friend Cal Boston. They battled for the Bubba – Bubba cup every year.
Paul was a dedicated family man who always put his family first. He will be missed dearly.
The family would like to thank his caretaker, Rose, and the staff at the Harold Alfond Cancer center for providing excellent care during has long battle with cancer.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Marlene (Buckmore) Rodrigue of Augusta; a son, Scott M. Rodrigue and his wife Lynn of Beavercreek, Ohio, a daughter, Kellie (Rodrigue) LaPlante of Scarborough; three grandchildren, Jessica Trick and her husband Benjamin, Ryan Rodrigue and Erica LaPlante; two great grandchildren, Abigail and Madison Trick. He was predeceased by his parents.
