Roger H. Ricker
WELLINGTON – Roger Howard Ricker, 76, died Dec. 7, 2022, at his residence. He was born Aug. 11, 1946, in Hartland, a son of Cecil and Angie (Ward) Ricker. He graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in 1965. Roger was an avid photographer, woodworker, stamp collector, and sometimes poet. Additionally, he was a constant and lifelong contributor to his community: as a Selectman for the Town of Wellington, secretary and treasurer of the Wellington Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Piscataquis County Firefighter’s Association, a member of the Valley Grange in Guilford, an Assistant Scoutmaster for Wellington Troop 62, a member of the Heart of Gold Snowmobile Club, the Wellington Wheelers ATV Club, and a fixture at Harmony’s cribbage games.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Braley) Ricker; two stepsons, Jason Braley and partner Brenda Pike of Somerville, Mass., and Brian Braley and wife Jamie Ribisi-Braley of Auburn; a sister-in-law Cheryl Ricker of Sangerville; and many close cousins, nieces, nephews, and neighbors. Special thanks to Cheryl Ricker and friends Vaughn and Darlene Bussell who provided so much emotional support in his final days.
In the spring, a graveside committal service will be held at the Mainstream Cemetery in Harmony followed by a Celebration of Life. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
