Patricia M. Donnelly

AUGUSTA – Patricia M. Donnelly, 76, died peacefully, Friday, June 22, 2023 at Maine General Medical Center with her loving partner Cynthia by her side.

Born in Boston, Mass., Sept. 25, 1946, she was the daughter of John and Claire Kennedy Donnelly. Educated in New York, she was a graduate of Northport High School on Long Island. Enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1966, Pat served during the Vietnam Era, and was honorably discharged in 1978.

“Pat” or “Trisha” as she was known to many, spent her career as a psychotherapist and social worker. She was well loved and respected in her communities and has helped countless people in the Machias and Augusta area. Pat never asked for any accolades or recognition, she was just there to help when needed.

Pat had a great sense of humor, even throughout her own illness. She rarely complained and gave strength to those around her.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by the love of her life, her partner for over 20 years, Cynthia Demetri of Augusta; her brothers Dennis Donnelly and Patrick Donnelly, her sister-in-law, Dianne Donnelly of San Antonio, Texas; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews in the Carolinas, Ohio, Virginia, Connecticut and Texas. She was extremely proud of her great-nieces and great-nephews in the same states. Patricia is also survived by Cynthia’s family, a sister and her husband, Linda and Bill Falkenmeyer, a brother, Gary Demetri; and Cynthia’s Aunt Bess.

During her lifetime, Pat has lost siblings who were very dear to her, a little sister, Sharon, early in life; her sister, Billie Allen, and two brothers, Timothy and Michael Donnelly.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date.
