I met George Lapointe more than 25 years ago when he led our state’s marine resource department. He worked on highly charged issues affecting Mainers’ pocketbooks and the very sustainability of our critical marine resources. I know him to be a listener and consensus builder who earns respect by being a straight shooter, showing up, taking blame when wrong and always trying to find common ground.
The job of being an elected official is no easier than managing fisheries, often with the stakes as great. George continues to have boundless energy and enthusiasm for his work as Mayor; he drops by in every season, not just election season. We are a diverse, friendly, inclusive, vibrant, and creative little city; renowned as such throughout the state. Let’s reelect George Lapointe as Hallowell’s mayor. I believe that he will continue to represent all of us towards a bright future for our city.
