TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – James Paul Rene Cyr, 76, of Tallahassee, Fla. died on Nov. 8, 2023, after an illness. The husband of Patricia A. (Kimball) Cyr was born in Augusta, Maine on May 23, 1947, to parents Claude Leon and Claire (Dulac) Cyr.
Jim was a graduate of Cony High and the University of Maine at Farmington. He worked for GH Bass Shoe Company and stayed with them for over 24 years. He rose to Vice President of East Coast Sales.
Also, he worked for Dunham Shoe Company in Brattleboro, Vt., and Dexter Shoe Company, finishing his career at Duckhead Shoe Co. from 2000-2005. Soon after, Patti and Jim moved to Orlando, Fla. where he started a new business, Tri-County Lawn and Ornamentals, growing it into a successful company. Jim retired in 2010 and resettled in Tallahassee. He spent his time attending ALL his Florida State University games.
Jim was predeceased by his infant son, Brandon James Cyr. Jim leaves behind his wife of 57 years Patricia (Kimball) Cyr; twin daughters, Trisha Cyr Ackman and son-in-law Kevin of Stuart, FL, and Tiffany Cyr Goodart and husband Jim of Destin, Fla.; grandchildren Lola Ackman and Alex Ackman. He also leaves his sister Pat Cyr Poulin and husband Lou of Crossville, Tenn., and brother Tom Cyr and his wife Nancy of Lewiston, Maine; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manchester, Maine in September 2024 where their son Brandon is buried. Relatives and friends will be notified of the time and location.
