A special concert to benefit the two local venues affected by the tragic events of Oct. 25 will be held 5-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Franco Center in Lewiston. Both Schemengees and Just-In-Time Recreation suffered losses of lives and business closures as a result of the tragedy. While operating and facility expenses continue to grow, revenues came to a halt, and little if any of the funds raised so far have actually reached these businesses that served the community for years.

The concert/dance will also give the owners of the two businesses, family, employees, and circle of friends a well-deserved opportunity to let their collective hair down, relax and enjoy a fun time with loved ones.

Along with the Franco Center donating the venue and production services, these Lewiston/Auburn-based musicians have donated their time:

Ron Bergeron
Smith Collaboration
Acoustic Sunshine
Goff Hill Rundown
Denny Breau & Arlo West
Continental Shakedown
Bonnie Edwards
Runnin’ Down a Dream
Jumpin’ Willys

Justin Dube of Dube Media will livestream the event over Facebook, including a QR code where people can donate from anywhere. The Franco Center will provide a cash bar and concessions for the duration of the event. Advance tickets are $15 and are available at francocenter.org, by phone at 207-689-2000 or in person at the box office.
