Pittsfield police arrested a man Sunday afternoon after contractor tools reported stolen last month were found at his house in St. Albans, according to officials.
Richard Tripp, 55, was arrested at the home on multiple outstanding warrants unrelated to the burglary, and more charges are expected in the case, Chief Vicente Morris of the Pittsfield Police Department said.
No cash was found at the scene, Morris said.
The Pittsfield Police Department, Maine State Police and Somerset County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 2 p.m. Sunday at a mobile home at 13 Gould Lane in St. Albans, according to the Police Department’s official Facebook page.
The search yielded multiple contractor tools that were reported stolen in Pittsfield in late January, Morris told the Morning Sentinel. The tools are worth “several thousands of dollars,” Morris said.
“The scope of our warrant was very particular,” Morris said. “We were looking for stolen items.”
The Police Department is now working to return the recovered items to their owners, according to officials.
