Theresa Marie Ange Dostie

AUGUSTA – Theresa Marie Ange Dostie, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at the MaineGeneral Comfort Care Unit at Glenridge following a long illness. She was born in Caribou, on Sept. 23, 1932, a daughter of the late William and Anastasia (Belanger) Lagasse.

Mrs. Dostie was a graduate of Cony High School and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

She had been employed for over 34 years at Statler Tissue as a Packer in the Finishing Room.

Mrs. Dostie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Gerard Dostie and her siblings: Gerard, Henry, Stanley and Joseph Lagasse and Loretta Chasse, Gertrude Charette, Lenora Reid and Hortense Lajoie.

She is survived by two daughters: Karen Ann Dostie of Fairfield and Diane Marie Dostie of Norridgewock; two sons: Michael Gerard Dostie and his wife Margaret of Augusta and David James Dostie of Lewiston and his partner Christine Murphy; eleven grandchildren: Amanda McGarr and her husband Sean, Trisha Pierce and her husband Mark, Kristina Dostie, Jake Wildes and his wife Heather, Katie Tweedie and her husband Eric, Trevor Charette and his fiancée Nalaphs, Tyler Charette and his wife Alisha, Shawn Dostie and his wife Navidad and Stephen Dostie and his wife Tracey; ten great grandchildren: Dominick, Rocco, Keenan, Bronson, Paislie, Oliver, Charlotte, Aidan, Avalynn and Colby and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial will be at a later date in the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
