The MAGA Republicans’ continuing refusal to vote for funds to support our ally, Ukraine, against Russia’s war of aggression, makes it crystal clear that the MAGA Republican Party has openly allied itself with Russia, a longtime enemy of the United States. Trump has admired Putin for years, while former Fox News personality and Trump supporter Tucker Carlson is visiting Russia to support Putin’s propaganda machine, apparently unconcerned that Putin has imprisoned American journalists.

The majority of Americans and our European allies understand that if Putin gains control of Ukraine, he will not stop there but will continue to wage war to control as much of Europe has he can. A destabilized Europe is a major threat to the long-term security of the United States. And yet the extremist Republicans, under Trump’s direction, are blocking action in Congress to support Ukraine and thereby jeopardizing the security of our country.

Trump has stolen highly classified government documents and orchestrated an insurrection to overturn the will of the American people during the 2020 election. He has publicly stated that he wants to be a dictator, and threatens opponents with violence. He is doing Putin’s bidding. It is time for all Americans to realize that he is an enemy to our democratic values, and work with dedication and purpose to defeat him in November 2024.
