BiNGHAM — The Valley softball team piled up the runs Friday, sweeping a doubleheader from Vinalhaven , 16-2 and 26-7.
In game one, Delia Hill, Kirsten Bigelow and Kayleigh Cates had two hits apiece for Valley (5-3). Bigelow and Cates also drove in two runs apiece.
Audrey Anthony and Caylee Booker two hits apiece for Vinalhaven.
In game two, the Cavaliers scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Madeline Hill and Surata Wright each had two hits and three RBIs for Valley, while Myranda Beane added two hits and an RBI.
Chelsea Waite had two hits and an RBI for Vinalhaven (2-6).
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 13, MADISON 8: Shannah Parsons had four hits at the plate and struck out 13 batters in the circle as the Mustangs (6-1) prevailed in Madison.
Riley Smith, Hayli Paradis and Lily Palleschi had three hits apiece for Monmouth, while June Foirt added two hits and Bella Lyons homered.
Mackenzie Robbins had four hits for Madison (4-4), while teammates Kylie Furbush, Emma Anton and Kenadi Berry added two apiece.
BOYS LACROSSE
DEERING 21, MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 10: Andrew Burke had seven goals and three assists, and Corbin Burke added seven goals and two assists as the Rams won in Portland.
Joey Foley finished with four goals and three assists, Caleb Arris had two goals and two assists, and Vinny Cavallaro made 10 saves for Deering.
Maranacook/Winthrop (7-1) was led by Ethan Chilton with four goals, and Owen Lyons with three goals and three assists.
