DIXFIELD — Josh Pollis had a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh to give Mountain Valley a 5-4 win over Mt. Abram in baseball action Saturday.

Colby Frisbie drove in two runs while Jake New had a double for Mountain Valley (3-6).

Cam Grey notched two hits and drove in two for Mt. Abram (7-3). Ash Rollins and Bryce Cote each had an RBI.

Bradley Sirois went the distance for the Falcons by allowing four runs on seven hits. He walked three and struck out a pair. Logan Dube took the loss in relief in a 1 and 2/3 innings allowing one run, one walk and struck out one.

 

BUCKFIELD 8-11, FOREST HILLS 3-1: A nice hitting day propelled the Bucks to a doubleheader sweep.

Brayden Jack doubled and singled for Buckfield (3-4). He also scored twice, the first the go-ahead run when he went from first base to home after a few throwing errors, which made the score 3-2.

The second run came in the sixth inning when Ryder Bragg hit a two-run single that also scored James Tyne in the bottom of the sixth, which made the lead 8-3.

Krosby Harvey also doubled and singled for the Bucks. Tyne pitched four innings to earned the win.

Gabe White took the mound for Buckfield in the second game and pitched all five innings. He struck out nine batters.

Seamus Keough doubled and tripled for the Bucks, and Harvey again had a double and a single. Buckfield, which finished with 11 hits, scored five runs in the first inning and four in the fourth.

Forest Hills’ (3-4) Aaron Obert doubled in each game, while Connor Achey and Liam Achey each had two hits in the second game.

SOFTBALL

 

NYA 12, OAK HILL 2: Brooklyn Goodman was 4 for 4 with two RBIs, and Lily Rawnsley added three hits and two RBIs while pitching a two-hitter as the Panthers won in six innings at Yarmouth.

Hayden Wienckowski also drove in two runs for NYA (10-0).

Oak Hill (4-4) got both of its hits in the first inning. Ava Rivet singled and eventually scored on a single by Sydney Wood.
