River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work to a juried show, “Land & Sea.” The deadline is 4 p.m. Saturday, June 29.
The theme “Land & Sea” is open to personal interpretation by the artists and may include realistic as well as abstract works. This summer show draws broadly on the Maine landscape.
The juror will be Maine artist Tom Ferrero, who began his career as a jeweler and metal artist. He began painting when he realized he wanted to work larger, use more color, and be more spontaneous.
An opening reception will take place from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 6. The show will run through Aug. 10.
River Arts is located at 36 Elm St. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artists may enter either two pieces with a size limit of 24 inches including frame, or one larger piece with a size limit of 50 inches including frame.
For members the entry fee is $15; for non-members it is $30. Artwork must be delivered in person during regular business hours.
Entry forms are available in the gallery or at riverartsme.org.
