NEW PORTLAND — A summer childrens Vacation Bible School event, SCUBA – Diving Into Friendship with God, will be hosted by the Western Mountains Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, June 24-28, at the church is located at 928 Carrabassett Road.

At SCUBA, children in pre-K through grade 5 explore what it means to have a friendship with God. They can participate in Bible learning activities, sing catchy songs, and play team-building games as well as devour yummy treats. They will have the opportunity to experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures and collect Bible Memory Buddies that will remind them of God’s love for them. Plus, kids can have fun testing out science experiments and learn to look for evidence of God all around them through “God sightings.” Each day concludes with a Fin-tastic Finale that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned, according to a news release from the church.

The closing program for SCUBA VBS will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 30. Family and friends are encouraged to join this special program followed by a cookout.

Kids at SCUBA VBS will join a mission effort to provide blessing bags for the homeless.
