PORTLAND — Maine Initiatives invites community volunteers to become Readers for the 2024 Grants for Change Program, a participatory grant-making initiative that funds and strengthens Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color-led and -serving organizations advancing racial justice in Maine and unceded Wabanaki territory.

Hundreds of G4C readers statewide contribute to this participatory process each year, according to a news release from Maine Initiatives.

Volunteers will review and evaluate three submitted applications to the 2024 G4C Program, and contribute to the community-led decision-making process.

In addition to reading and evaluating submitted applications, readers also can attend special events related to Maine Initiatives’ programming. Selected readers may also be invited to join the Grantmaking Advisory Committee.
