WATERVILLE — Thomas College announced recently that Bob Moore has joined its board of trustees.
Moore has been executive director of the Augusta Food Bank since 2020. He graduated from Thomas College in 1979, and led the college’s advancement team from 2010 to 2019.
Since joining the Augusta Food Bank, Moore has overseen a 100% growth in the food bank’s procurement and distribution of food and more than tripled financial support, according to a news release.
Prior to joining the Augusta Food Bank, Moore was Thomas College’s senior vice president of advancement. Before that, Moore was the first employee of the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed. He was a founding board member of Camp KV for Kids, past board member and treasurer of the KVYMCA, past chairperson and current treasurer of the Cony High School All-Sports Boosters, and spent more than 15 years coaching youth sports at the KVYMCA, Augusta East Little League, and Augusta Babe Ruth. He was a member of Team Cony, a private group that raised more than $1.5 million to help fund construction of the new Cony High School, was a member of the new Cony High School building committee, and led the fundraising efforts for Fuller Field, Cony’s new turf field.
Moore was inducted into the Thomas College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023, Kennebec Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and honored as Le Club Calumet’s Outstanding Citizen in 2007.
Moore live in South China with his wife Susan, and goldendoodle Abby. They have four children and eight grandchildren.
