I read with interest your Sept. 11 article that the Justice Department was suing Maine for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (“Advocates urge action on federal lawsuit”). Our Democrat-led Legislature and governor have granted hundreds of millions of our dollars to big bucks solar and wind developers. However the Legislature and governor cannot find a few million for our disabled children.
The priorities are clear — big bucks developers take precedence over our children.
It’s shameful. Maybe it’s even criminal.
I read with dismay the report about the ongoing negotiations with the Department of Justice. Our disabled children don’t need negotiations; they need help.
As a paraphrase of what Yoda said to Luke Skywalker, “There is no try, there is only do or don’t do.” Do!
