Eight monastics who practice Mindfulness in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh (who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr) are on a New England Tour and plan to visit Maine the first weekend in October.
They are set to offer a Day of Mindfulness, “Peace in Oneself, Peace in the World,” at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church (69 Winthrop St. in Augusta) from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Arrival at 11:15 a.m. is encouraged, but not earlier due to other activities in the space.
Chairs will be provided. Those who intend to join are asked to visit tinyurl.com/2bpyjf9n.
Registration costs a suggested $20 donation, cash or check, to be split equally between the UUCC and Blue Cliff Monastery. Checks can be made out to Peaceful Heart Sangha. Cash is preferred, if possible.
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
