A Woodland man was charged with multiple counts of arson after a state investigation connected him to multiple explosive devices in the town.
Joshua Brydon, 37, was arrested by Maine State Police on Saturday. He faces five counts of arson, six counts of criminal use of explosives, one count of attempted arson, two counts of stalking and one count of endangering a child’s welfare, state police said.
A spokesperson for the department said Brydon is a suspect in multiple incidents in Woodland where residents were targeted by improvised explosive and incendiary devices. The 18-month investigation found that the devices were dropped by a drone, placed or thrown by hand.
Brydon is currently being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton and had his first court appearance.
State police spokesperson Shannon Moss deferred questions about whether there are more suspects and how often the devices were used to the district attorney’s office.
