HINCKLEY – The L.C. Bates Natural History Museum at Good Will-Hinckley plans to host Museum Store Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at 14 Easler Road.
Part of a global holiday shopping event involving more than 2,100 museum stores, the event offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience with items that support the museum’s educational mission and local community.
Although the event is indoors, visitors are encouraged to dress warmly, as the historic space may be chilly. The museum will offer a complimentary hot chocolate bar.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to find meaningful, nature-inspired gifts and support their local museum,” said Museum Director Lyndell Bade, according to a news release from the museum. “Each purchase supports the L.C. Bates Museum’s mission to share Maine’s natural history and inspire curiosity.”
The theme of this year’s Museum Store Sunday, “Shop with Purpose,” speaks to the impact that each purchase makes in supporting local artists, small businesses, and cultural institutions. Shoppers can find a carefully curated selection of gems, polished stones, geodes, toys, puppets, necklaces, fossils, and more, perfect for holiday gifting and unique keepsakes for all ages. Every purchase directly supports the museum’s programs, exhibits, and local economic growth, making it an ideal choice for purposeful holiday shopping.
