Jonathan Petgrave, 37, of 11 College Ave. No. 3, located next to the Waterville fire station, was charged with two counts of Class A aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, according to Maj. Jason Longley of the Waterville Police Department.

Waterville police, with help from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, searched the apartment Thursday. Detectives found about 33 grams of cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine, and about 6 grams of fentanyl, he said.

Because of his prior aggravated trafficking conviction, Petgrave’s new charges are both Class A crimes, Longley said.

Longley said Tuesday that Petgrave was taken to Kennebec County jail in Augusta after Thursday’s arrest.

He added that Somerset County provided additional staff for Thursday’s search.

Petgrave’s bail is set at $50,000 cash, a spokeswoman at the jail said. He appeared in court last Friday, Jan. 17,  and is scheduled to appear again this Friday, Jan. 24.
