The University of Maine’s men’s basketball team concluded the regular season Tuesday, beating UMass Lowell 71-70 at Orono.
Jaden Clayton broke a tie with a free throw for the final points of the game with 18 seconds remaining.
Quinton Mincey, who finished with a game-high 26 points, missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for UMass Lowell (17-14, 6-10 America East).
Quion Burns lead Maine (18-13, 10-5) with 19 points. Kellen Tynes had 14 and Clayton 10.
The Black Bears, who open the America East tournament on Saturday, were outrebounded, 35-18. Neither team led by more than six points.
