PORTLAND — Brooklyn Kalmikov finished with three points and Jacob Hudson scored two goals to lead the Maine Mariners to a 5-3 victory over the Adirondack Thunder on Sunday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Arena.
The Mariners played in front of an announced sellout crowd of 6,074, the second largest attendance mark in team history.
Maine carried a 2-1 lead into the third before pulling away.
Sebastian Vidmar and Xander Lamppa scored early in the period to give Maine a 4-1 lead. Hudson then put the game away with an empty net goal with 30 seconds left.
Mariners goalie Nolan Maier stopped 29 of 32 shots to earn his eighth win of the season.
