VASSALBORO — Brewer, Camden Hills and Bangor will join Edward Little at the Class A golf championships after placing in the top three at Tuesday’s KVAC Class A qualifier on the Arrowhead Course at Natanis Golf Course.

Edward Little earned its spot in the state tournament by winning the conference title at Saturday’s KVAC Class A Shootout.

Brewer finished first Tuesday by accumulating a team score of 239 (41-over-par). Camden Hills (332) was second and Bangor (335) third. Skowhegan (336) was one stroke back, while Edward Little (337) came in fifth.

Golfers not part of the state qualifying teams qualified for the boys state tournament as individuals by shooting 87 or better on Tuesday.

Brunswick’s Will Farschon shot the best round with a 3-over 75. Skowhegan’s Eddie Goff (77) earned a spot by tying for second with Bangor’s Jacob Harvey and Brewer’s Calvin Grass. Edward Little’s Joey Samson rounded out the top five with a 6-over 78.

Messalonskee’s Liam McFadden qualified for the state tourney by shooting an 80 (sixth place). Other individual qualifiers: Skowhegan’s Silas Tibbetts (82), Lewiston’s Will Routhier (82), Hampden’s Sawer Worcester (83), Messalonskee’s Greyson Dooley (84), Brunswick’s Ben Farschon (84), Oxford Hills’ Gunner Truman (86), Hampden’s Wyatt Allen (86), Messalonskee’s Gavin Jackson (87), Skowhegan’s Ben Poulin (87) and Mt. Ararat’s Noah Cook (87).

Reigning Class A girls champion Alexis McCormick (87) of Oxford Hills and Skowhegan’s Lydia Jones (93) qualified for the Class A girls state championship tournament.

The Class A state championship will be Friday at Natanis’ Tomahawk Course. The Class B and C championships are Saturday at Natanis.

WATERVILLE 10, NOKOMIS 1: Ethan Goodrich scored five goals to lead the Purple Panthers to the win in Waterville.

Hunter WIllett and Gabriel Cedeno added two goals apiece for Waterville (9-1-0) while Garrett Gendreau had one. Dustin Bearce made six saves.

Jon Furlong scored for the Warriors (0-7-0) and Jaiden Barkac stopped three shots.

 

MONMOUTH 8, LISBON 0: Freshmen Zane Foyt and Bryce Fletcher scored two goals apiece to pace the Mustangs to the win in Monmouth.

Noah Schultz tallied two assists and Emmett Cody had one for Monmouth (9-2). Rory Foyt, Kyle Blasius, Jake Harmon and Cody Tanzi also scored goals. Goalie Lewis Lamoreau made two saves.

Lisbon (0-8-1) Camden Therrien stopped 12 shots.

GIRLS SOCCER

 

WATERVILLE 6, NOKOMIS 1: Sadie Williams had a hat trick to lead the Purple Panthers to the win in Waterville.

Piper Hamilton added a goal and three assists for Waterville (4-6-0) while Lundyn Beaulieu and Kiera McNeill had the other goals. Madison Gervais chipped in with three assists and Roselyn Martin had nine saves.

Kayla Morse scored for the Warriors (0-7-1) and Abby Carron made 18 saves.
