Rushawn Baker rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns, leading Elon to a 31-25 win over Maine in a Coastal Athletic Association football game Saturday in Elon, North Carolina.

Baker completed an opening 75-yard drive with a 6-yard run, then added a 3-yard TD run in the second quarter and another 6-yard scoring run in the third.

Elon quarterback Matthew Downing added a 70-yard touchdown pass to Chandler Brayboy late in third, giving the Phoenix (5-6, 4-3 CAA) a 28-18 lead.

Jaharie Martin had two TD runs for Maine (6-5, 3-4). Montigo Moss caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Carter Peevy with :02 remaining.

Peevy was 22 of 37 passing for 271 yards, with one interception.

UNE 25, HUSSON 14: Damien Jones scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter, and the Nor’easters (4-6, 2-3 CNE) ended their season with a win over the Eagles (6-4, 3-2) in Bangor.

Chris Lang clinched the victory with a 14-yard touchdown run with 2:10 remaining. UNE also got a 14-yard TD pass from Jarrett Henault to Jakob Rivers in the first quarter and two field goals from Jack Niland.

Henault was 10 of 11 passing for 124 yards.

Husson’s Max Clark capped the game’s first drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Dom Wilson. Lavar Hunter’s 2-yard scoring run late in the third quarter gave the Eagles a 14-13 lead.

MEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 2, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 2: Shane Lachance scored the tying goal with 20 seconds left in regulation as 11th-ranked Boston University (5-5-1, 2-2-1 Hockey East) salvaged a tie against seventh-ranked Maine (7-2-2, 4-2-2) at Alfond Arena.

BU picked up an extra point in the Hockey East standings by winning a shootout, 1-0.

Anthony Calafiore’s goal midway through the second period gave Maine a 2-1 lead that stood until the final minute of regulation.

BU’s Cole Eiserman opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game. Nolan Renwick tied it with a power-play goal at 16:35 of the first.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

COLBY 1, CLAREMONT-MUDD-SCRIPPS 0: Abigail Jarvi scored in the 33rd minute, and the Mules (12-4-3) shut out the Athenas (13-4-3) in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament at Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Annie Liebich assisted on Jarvi’s goal as Colby advanced to play MIT at 1 p.m. Sunday.

TRINITY (TEXAS) 3, BOWDOIN 0: Luke Chandler headed in a corner kick late in the first half, and Adam Knutson added two goals early in the second half as the Tigers (19-0-3) eliminated the Polar Bears (8-6-5) in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament, at San Antonio.

VOLLEYBALL

MIDDLEBURY 3, COLBY 2: The Panthers (16-10) overcame a 14-12 deficit in the final set, scoring the last four points to complete a 14-25, 25-16, 25-22, 16-25, 16-14 win over the Mules (24-3) in the New England Small College Athletic Conference championship match, at Waterville.
